Today, we are thrilled to share that legal industry veterans Haley Altman and Mark Chandler have joined Paladin’s Board of Directors. As Paladin ushers in a new phase of growth post-Series A, we are excited to leverage Haley and Mark’s experiences to guide Paladin’s strategy in increasing access to justice around the world.
Prior to her role as Strategic Advisor at Litera, Haley was the co-founder and CEO of Doxly, a transaction management platform that was acquired by the company in 2019. At Litera, she served as the General Manager of Transaction Management before transitioning into the business development and strategy roles where she served as the Global Head of Corporate Development for 18 months, completing an impressive 10 legal tech acquisitions and gaining expertise on trends and developments across the industry. Prior to Doxly, Haley worked as an attorney on complicated transactions in the corporate, private equity, and venture capital verticals at Ice Miller and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Her background in product development and deep knowledge of the legal market will be integral as Paladin continues to grow.
Well known in the corporate world, Mark, a Fellow at Stanford Law School’s Rhode Center for the Legal Profession, served as the Chief Legal Officer at Cisco for 20 years. While at Cisco, Mark led a team of 450 and drove initiatives to create tools to speed and simplify almost every aspect of Cisco’s Legal Departments. He now co-leads Stanford Law’s Filing Fairness Project access to justice initiative, a multi-jurisdictional effort to simplify court filing processes to benefit pro bono clients and self-represented litigants, and improve the administration of justice. The effort currently includes 6 states, with the ambition of ultimately increasing access to the court system across the country. Mark adds a strong corporate perspective to Paladin’s mission and will be instrumental in helping facilitate pro bono engagement across law firms and their corporate clients.

The pair join Paladin’s existing board members Kristen Sonday (Co-Founder, CEO), Felicity Levey (Co-Founder, Executive Chairwoman), and Rostam Zafari (Founder, World Within). Welcome aboard!
Kristen Sonday
Kristen is the Co-Founder and CEO at Paladin. As a first generation-college Princeton graduate, Kristen first witnessed how complicated our judicial system is to navigate while at the U.S. Department of Justice conducting international criminal work in Mexico and Central America. As one of the few Latinos on the team, she saw the immense value of having an advocate with you throughout the legal process, which inspired her to want to build something to increase access for those in diverse communities. After DOJ, she joined the Founding Team of YC-backed Grouper, where she learned how to build a startup from the ground up. In addition to Paladin, Kristen Co-Chairs the Legal Services Corporation’s Emerging Leaders Council and is a partner at LongJump, investing in overlooked founders in the Chicago area.
